Snowpiercer just killed the same character… again

For the second time, Snowpiercer kills Kevin McMahon (Tom Lipinski), but thanks to LJ Folger, Mr. Wilford dead.

Warning: SPOILERS in front snow piercer Season 3, Episode 3 – “The First Blow”

Kevin McMahon (Tom Lipinski) was killed on snow piercer again, but this time the eerie head of Mr Wilford’s hospitality remains dead. In snow piercer season 3, episode 3, Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his loyalists reconnected their 10-car pirate train to Snowpiercer and took control of Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean). But while Layton and Josie Wellstead (Katie McGuinness) dealt with Wilford in person, the Resistance got unexpected help from the newlywed LJ Folger-Osweiller (Annalise Basso), who executed Kevin in a shocking but enjoyable moment.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Kevin was introduced at the beginning of snow piercer season 2 as mr. Wilford’s most loyal flunky aboard their 40-car supply train, Big Alice. From the outset, there was something distinctly unbalanced about the sadistic Kevin, who was Snowpiercer’s counterpart Ruth Wardell (Alison Wright). McMahon was quickly taken hostage and interrogated by Layton. When Kevin was returned to Wilford, billionaire Messiah knew his right-hand man had given up crucial information, so Wilford forced Kevin to slit his wrists in his bathtub. Kevin was considered dead until he turned up alive a few episodes later and was psychologically damaged. Wilford’s lover, Miss Audrey (Lena Hall), healed Kevin, but McMahon was still deranged and immoral. In snow piercer season 3, Kevin relentlessly pursued the resistance led by Ruth on the train and tortured and killed Strong Boy (Kurt Ostlund), one of Layton’s allies from the Tail.

Kevin was killed by LJ, who saw which direction the wind was blowing when Layton took back control of Snowpiercer. Lilah Jr. understood innately that with the regime about to change, the most loyal followers of Mr. Wilford would be thrown in jail by Layton, in the compost car, or worse, so she decided to turn on Wilford and kill Kevin. LJ hopes Kevin Layton will “prove” that she and her new husband, John Osweiller (Sam Otto), were forcibly working for Wilford. Unlike the previous McMahon The Godfather Part II-like “dead” in the bathtub implied Kevin’s final death will stick because LJ stabbed him in the neck and watched him bleed to death before raising her fist and hilariously declaring: “Long live the resistance!”

Kevin is the first notable death in snow piercer season 3 because he was a more important character than Strong Boy, the Tailie he tortured and killed. Kevin stood by Wilford’s side during the billionaire’s most horrific crimes, such as the cull on Big Alice, where they killed half their passengers to conserve resources. Kevin even suggested a second Cull on Snowpiercer, who luckily shot Wilford. While Kevin was a bootlick to Wilford, he was also a sinister tool that his employer managed to use to his advantage. McMahon was a cheerleader for Wilford’s worst impulses and it’s safe to say that no one on Snowpiercer, except Wilford himself (possibly), will miss Kevin.

snow piercer has a habit of reversing the deaths of important characters, such as Josie, or their eventual fate is ambiguous enough that they can still be reversed, such as Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly). But Kevin has already ‘ risen ‘ by snow piercer once and this time it looks like the Teal-clad sadist will remain dead. Kevin’s passing leaves the imprisoned and depowered Mr. Wilford behind without his biggest mushroom and henchman. With LJ, who blossomed on snow piercer by replacing Alex Cavill (Rowan Blanchard) as Mr. Wilford’s daughter, who turns against the billionaire, Kevin’s death places the balance of power on the train firmly back in Layton’s hands.
