Since taking over as Liverpool manager in October 2015, Jurgen Klopp has made some brilliant transfer deals.

During this time, the Reds made great transfers, from Virgil van Dijk to Luis Diaz. But he missed a lot of other strong players. Sometimes for the better. Make bets on Liverpool matches on 22Bet online betting site.

Let’s remember who was not destined to play at Anfield.

Timo Werner

RB Leipzig top star Timo Werner has long hinted that he wants to join Liverpool in the summer of 2020, but the financial impact of the global pandemic has sapped Liverpool’s interest in the German international, who ended up joining Chelsea instead.

The Reds then signed Diogo Jota for $41 million.

Now Werner is famous for his terrible misses, and Jota has become a goal-scoring machine, scoring 30 goals in his first 60 matches for Liverpool.

Alex Teixeira

In January 2016, Klopp attempted to formalize his first major signing as Liverpool manager and made an offer to Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Brazilian international expressed a strong desire to move to Merseyside, but the Reds refused to pay £38m.

“The team has received one offer from Liverpool,” Teixeira said in January 2016. “It was rejected, I don’t know why. There was only one offer, and Shakhtar rejected it.”

The deal fell through and Teixeira instead moved to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning where he scored 72 goals in 150 matches.

Klopp, meanwhile, had to make do with Stephen Kolker.

Ousmane Dembele

After joining Liverpool in 2015, Klopp realized that they needed to improve the quality of their play on the wing and chose Dembele as the person to help him in the new team.

Dembele had an impressive season at Rennes in 2015-16 before joining Borussia Dortmund before moving to Barcelona 12 months later.

“I saw Klopp in Paris but told him that I decided to sign with Borussia,” Dembele told FourFourTwo in 2017.

Liverpool then began to be interested in Sadio Mane. As a result, the club lost nothing.
