Men’s Great Britain battle Sweden for gold as women win epic semi-final

Edin in the right direction

Sweden wants to do one more time better than their silver medal at the 2018 Olympics.

Skip Niklas Edin is the only skip in history to have won five world titles, but an Olympic gold medal has always eluded him.

Four years ago in Pyeongchang, they were swept for gold by the US team that defeated Team GB in the semifinals.

But Edin said before this game: “We are focused on trying to win and not being afraid to lose, so looking back four years doesn’t really help us.

“We’re just looking at what we’re doing here now, old games don’t mean anything.

“This is a brand new competition and we know what it’s like to play an Olympic final, they don’t.”
