We interview I Want You Back stars Gina Rodriguez and Manny Jacinto about their favorite rom-com couples, divorce advice and more.
In the new rom-com I want you backNow streaming on Amazon Prime, Charlie Day and Jenny Slate play two unlucky singles who are frustrated after finding out their former significant others have moved on and are happy with other people. The two team up to get their exes back by sabotaging the new relationships. Gina Rodriguez plays Anne, Day’s Peter’s ex-girlfriend, who is now with Manny Jacinto’s Logan.
Rodriguez and Jacinto spoke to screen frenzy to discuss their all-time favorite rom-com couples, what to do after a breakup, and more.
Screen Rant: This was a beautiful movie, a joy to watch. Another romcom to add to my collection. I want to know who is your all-time favorite rom-com couple?
Manny Jacinto: I mean off the top of my head, Harry and Sally. Sage and Harry.
Gina Rodriguez: George Clooney and Amal Clooney. They give me a few goals.
Going real life. Love that.
Gina Rodriguez: But I kinda like me, you know, Monster Beauty was my favorite rom-com. It was like J.Lo and Jane Fonda were my favorite couple. The two together. Wow.
I love that you just said that. I think that movie is so underrated. It’s fantastic.
Gina Rodriguez: So good, right? I’m going to check that out again today.
