Drag Race UK vs. World Episode 1 Recap: Bring Back RuPaul’s Girls

Nine queens competed on the global stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race vs. The World, and one contestant has already been eliminated. Read our summary of the Drag Race.

The very first edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World has brought back a cast of global queens with Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Cheryl Hole, Janey Jacké, Jimbo, Jujubee, Lemon, Mo Heart and Pangina Heals. In this premiere episode, viewers were re-acquainted with the fan-favorite queens of multiple shows in the Drag race franchisee. With the UK as host country, Drag Race UK season 1 stars Baga, Blu and Cheryl entered this competition to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Jujubee and Mo Heart (formerly known as Monique Heart) came in Drag Race UK vs. The World to represent the main American series. Jujubee participated on Drag race season 2, All stars 1and All stars 5while Mo appeared on Drag race season 10 and All stars 4. The cast then welcomed Canada’s Drag Race season 1 stars Jimbo and Citroen, Drag Race Holland second place Janey, and Drag Race Thailand host Pangina.

There’s no denying that the queens were most gagged to see Pangina Heals, who appeared as the host of Drag Race Thailand season 1 and 2, join the show as a different contestant. Baga and Jimbo revealed that they met on tour, and many girls panicked because they were in the same workspace as a Drag race legend like Jujubee. At first glance, it was not entirely clear whether nationalities would play a role in this competition. Baga, Blu, and Cheryl befriended other queens in the room, while Jimbo and Lemon didn’t seem very close either. Jujubee and Mo also did not specify whether they would have each other’s backs as American queens.


This week’s maxi challenge was a talent show, but the truth is that almost all queens on Drag Race UK vs. The World performed original songs via live singing, lip syncing or just dancing. Jimbo’s hilarious, clownish performance was the only one that stood out for being different from everyone else in the cast. When it comes to the various lip sync songs, there was no doubt that Pangina Heals outperformed all the other contestants. As expected, Jimbo and Pangina were the top two queens of the week. On the other hand, the judges clearly had no connection to Janey and Lemon’s performances, noting that they lacked originality.
