The Batman scores its own IMAX-exclusive poster, placing special emphasis on all the DC characters that make up the impressive ensemble.
The official IMAX poster for the batter offers a gritty look at the DC movie’s entire cast of characters. DC movies always spark excitement, but Matt Reeves’ the batter has to be one of the most anticipated movies to come out of the superhero franchise in a very long time. Set in a different universe from the DCEU, the updated version of the iconic hero stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne. When the batter he’s in his second year as Gotham’s famed vigilante, and it won’t be long before he faces his toughest challenge yet.
That comes in the form of the Riddler (Paul Dano). This version of the villain is a masked serial killer who hunts down Gotham’s elite and plays with the Batman while doing so. To get to the bottom of the Riddler’s nefarious schemes, Bruce will join forces with both Jim Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) and Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), who seem to find themselves on the border between ally and enemy. the batter also includes some other well-known DC characters, most notably the Penguin (Colin Farrell) and Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis).
Each of those characters appears on the batter‘s official IMAX poster, which was released just a month before the film’s debut. The horizontal sheet offers multiple looks at those like Bruce, the Riddler, and Catwoman, while an outline of a bat with a question mark in the center looms over them all. Check it out below.

It all speaks to the general mystery that hangs over the batter, which currently revolves around the Riddler and his grand plan. Reeves has been open about his desire to research Bruce’s skills as a detective, and the film’s overall aesthetic is very reminiscent of gross crime dramas like seven. All told, the batter is very different from a typical superhero movie, and that’s what makes it so exciting.
As the IMAX poster emphasizes, the batter has a wide cast of characters to introduce. Some, like Gordon and the Penguin, are already destined for their own spin-offs, but others, like the Riddler and Catwoman, have the potential to be secondary protagonists in Bruce’s story. Reeves and DC have been far from silent about their ambitions for a bigger Batman universe, and this movie is just the beginning. The audience will get to see all of the above characters in action when the batter coming in March.
