Space Movie 1922 is an American horror drama movie that is released on Netflix in 2017 which is written and directed by Zak Hilditch. This thriller and horror drama is based on Stephen King’s 2010 novel of the same name. The major roles were played by Thomas Jane, Neal Mc Donough, and Molly Parker. On 20 October 2017, this film arrived on Netflix. This is a story of a farmer in the early 90’s i.e., 1992 named Wilfred “Wilf” James who resides in Hemingford, Nebraska with his wife named Arlette and their lovely son Henry (Dylan Schmid). Wilf always refuses Arlette’s words and he doesn’t like her. So, he decided on a murder plan to kill his wife with the help of his son and his son’s girlfriend named Shannon (Kaitlyn Bernard). Arlette always opposes their relationship and she doesn’t like to see Henry and Shannon together. That’s why Henry agrees to his father’s murder plan quickly. After that very smartly they all murdered Arlette by pushing a pillow on her face while Wilf cut her throat with a butcher’s knife and dumped her body. After years, Henry and Shannon ran away with her unidentical child from a Catholic Institution.
As the winter passes, Wilf became insane and harassed by rats. One night, a rat bites his hand which became infective which leads to losing his hand by doing amputation. In a climactic scene, Wilf is confronted by the ghost of his wife, surrounded by the rats which ate her corpse. She corners him in the basement and sadistically whispers to him. She recounts, as the viewer sees, the fate of Henry and Shannon. They became robbers, known as the “Sweetheart Bandits.” After that due to some cause, Shannon was shot dead which leads to the miscarriage of her baby, and due to excessive blood loss, she loses her life there only. Henry can not bear this pain and he also commits suicide next to her. Later, an unidentified woman’s body is found on the side of the road, which is assumed as Arlette. Henry’s body is delivered to Wilf, which, like his mother’s body, has been chewed through by rats. No one attends Henry’s funeral except for Wilf. He again sees the ghost of his wife surrounded by rats. 8 years later, after this dreadful and horrible incident, in 1930, Wilf writes his confession which concludes, ” In the end, we all get caught”. By the time he finishes, dozens of rats have swarmed his room. Arlette, Henry, and Shannon’s corpses have appeared in front of Wilf. Brandishing the same butcher’s knife used to kill his mother, Henry tells Wilf that his death will be quick. God curses them.
