Nancy Crampton Brophy Circuit Judge Christopher Ramras denied bail for Nancy Crampton Brophy, 69, after saying prosecutors showed sufficient evidence that she killed Daniel Brophy, 63. The decision came at the end of two-day hearing colored by the coronavirus pandemic, which had prompted Crampton Brophy to seek her release from custody.
What happened to Nancy Brophy?
On June 2, students at the Oregon Culinary Institute found Brophy unconscious in one of the kitchens. One of the students attempted CPR but he died at the scene. Brophy was shot twice, first in the back and then once in the chest at close range. Two 9 mm shell casings were found at the scene.
