Figueroa is currently in the Cook County Jail’s medical wing, Ryan said. While the jail does have special programs that allow controlled contact visits for female detainees and their children, Figueroa does not qualify for that program because of the severity of the charges lodged against her, Ryan said.

His most serious charge came in 2016. According to Illinois prison records, he was convicted of aggravated battery of a police officer in downstate Morgan County, just west of Springfield. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but was paroled from the Danville Correctional Center in April 2018.
