According to court documents, the suspects lured Cowell to a Norfolk home, forced her into a car at gunpoint, then drove to Newport News. They then led her into the woods where she was shot and killed.

Just five months ago, a Norfolk family suffered an unimaginable loss when police say 17-year-old Asia Cowell was gunned down to prevent her from testifying in a rape trial. This week, the Justice for Asia Facebook community is honoring her memory with acts of kindness.
Has Asia Cowell been found?
That was on September 7, Cowell was never heard from again and reported missing shortly after. Officials say her body was found about two weeks later in the woods behind Warwick Boulevard in Newport News.
