Close to Me official trailer (Channel 4) Friday Night Dinner will be returning to Channel 4 tomorrow night (March 27) for a sixth series, but it will be without one very important character Wilson the dog. The faithful companion of strange neighbour Jim (Mark Heap) tragically passed away in the series five finale.

Wilson was Jim Bell’s beloved dog. He first appeared with Jim in the episode The Sofabed. Wilson, though a good dog, also caused tons of chaos, from licking bodies in coffins to dolloping in the Goodmans’ flowerbed to constantly running away.

The first Wilson we had died after series one, series two to five was a different dog and [was] very good. Popper also revealed why he’d named the dog Wilson in the first place. He said: My friend had a cat called Wilson and I thought it was the most ridiculous name for a pet so [I] had to use it.

In it, the Goodmans were once again driven to the brink when Jim continuously let Wilson (Mark Heap) do his dollops in Mum (Tamsin Greig) and Dad’s (Paul Ritter) driveway flower bed, to their endless annoyance.

Milson is Jim Bell’s new dog in season 6. She is a cross between a Poodle and a Great Dane.

In series 2, it is implied that Jim has spent time in a secure psychiatric unit; he had been in hospital, wasn’t allowed to eat with a knife and had an extreme reaction to red paint mistaking it to be blood. In series 3, it is revealed that he was born in a zoo.

Paul Ritter Ritter died in April at the age of 54 I’m sure you know that very recently we lost our dear and most cherished friend Paul Ritter who plays Martin Goodman in Friday Night Dinner.

Simon Bird as Adam Goodman, the elder son of the family, a musician and advert jingle composer. Tom Rosenthal as Jonathan Jonny Goodman, the younger son, an estate agent. Mark Heap as James Jim Bell, the Goodmans’ bizarre, dog-fearing neighbour. He has had two dogs, Wilson (series 15) and Milson (series 6).

In 2010, Heap appeared as Bob Stevens, the leader of a rambling group in the BBC4 series The Great Outdoors. He also appeared as a psychiatrist in Miranda Hart’s comedy Miranda on BBC2. … Heap played Jim Bell in the Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner alongside Simon Bird, Paul Ritter, Tom Rosenthal and Tamsin Greig.

And despite the show being a couple of members down, viewers couldn’t help but fall in love with the new addition Milson. That’s Milson, not Wilson. Milson is, of course, Jim’s new dog, and she is just adorable. She was first introduced when Jim knocked on Jackie’s door, Shalom Jackie.

In the read-through, there was literally no improv and the scripts got a really great response from everyone.

Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner returned for its sixth series tonight (March 27) and viewers couldn’t contain their love for a new face. But this wasn’t just any old face, it actually belonged to Jim’s new dog Milson a huge grey Doodle who’s replaced Wilson, his pet who sadly passed away in the last series.

5 Friday Night Lights / Number of seasons All five seasons of Friday Night Lights are now streaming on Netflix, and fans are thrilled that the show is about to have another well-deserved spike in popularity.

The pet of the Goodmans’ strange neighbour Jim (Mark Heap), Wilson was adored and feared in equal measure by his owner, until he passed away suddenly in the final episode of series five. So why did poor Wilson have to die?

Fans of Friday Night Dinner last night had ‘crimble crumble’ in honour of Paul Ritter who died on Monday (5 April). The actor, best known for playing Martin Goodman, the shirtless patriarch of the series, sadly passed away after suffering from a brain tumour last week, his agent said.

He’s just very nice! He’s very smiley and he’s in a sort of parallel universe, but he’s not nasty. He doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body. And he’s also terrified of his own dog, which is a good character note.

A statement from Paul’s agent revealed that he had been suffering from a brain tumour and passed away at home surrounded by his family. He died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour, read the statement.

Milson In typical fashion, Jim’s inventive nature came up with the name Milson for his new dog who is a Great Danoodle, a cross between a Great Dane and a Poodle.

Never alone, Jim rocked up with his faithful dog Wilson, who he was weirdly scared of and tragically died at the end of season 5.

Mark Heap: Friday Night Dinner He has starred in the series alongside Tamsin, Paul Ritter (Chernobyl, Belgravia), Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) and Tom Rosenthal (Plebs) since the show began in 2011.

You see, the Goodmans’ eccentric neighbour Jim often says ‘Shalom’ to the family, and regularly addresses Jackie directly by name, but the term ‘Shalom Jackie’ perhaps doesn’t crop up as often as our endless quoting would imply.
