Dex-Starr (real name: Dexter) is a villain in Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns #1. He was an abused kitten at a local animal shelter. He now serves as the pet and feline companion of Atrocitus.

Dex-Starr Dex-Starr is a house cat from the planet Earth who is among the deadliest of the Red Lantern Corps.

For their amusement, they decided to throw Dexter (while still inside the bag) off the Brooklyn Bridge to see him drown. Just as they did, a Red Lantern Power Ring flew in, detecting the rage within Dexter’s heart and turned him into a Red Lantern, and thus embraced his new identity as Dex-Starr.

Dex-Starr was originally a single woman’s cat named Dexter, whom he loved as much as she loved him. One day she was brutally murdered, and was thrown into the river by hoodlums.

However, Atrocitus and Dex-Starr survived but are apparently killed when Guy takes control of all of Atrocitus’ newly-created Red Power Rings, stripping them of their rings and removing their life support.

In the 2010 Brightest Day storyline, Lobo appears on Earth to capture a bounty on Atrocitus’s head. After fighting Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris and Sinestro, he then flees. It is revealed that the fight was staged by Atrocitus himself. As a payment, Lobo is given a Red Lantern ring.

The blood spoils, and the ring expels it from the bearer’s mouth in a vomit of violent rage. A Red Lantern’s veins stretch as they fill with the liquid fire of the Red Light.

When we explored an overview of DC Comics’ Lantern Corps, we were reminded of the tragic origin story of Dex-Starr the Red Lantern. Originally intended as a joke, Dex-Starr was created by Geoff Johns and Shane Davis and had his first appearance in Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns.

The Mobius Chair is primarily associated with Metron, of the Fourth World, but it has been revealed others have wielded its power, including the Anti-Monitor (who actually built the chair) and Batman. In 2016’s Justice League #50, the Dark Knight sat on the Chair and gained its accumulated knowledge.

Origin. The Black Lantern Corps consisted of various slain and deceased beings throughout the universe who fell into the domain of the dead. There, they were used by the Lord of The Unliving, Nekron as part of a plan to wage a war against the Emotional Spectrum.

Though the corpse that Nekron transformed into Black Lantern Batman didn’t really belong to Bruce Wayne, it is the events of Final Crisis and Batman’s journey through time that eventually lead to him becoming the greatest Black Lantern of all.

So it’s of no surprise that one of the most common rings Batman has had a chance to wield is also the most recognizable: the willpower-fueled ring of the Green Lantern Corps. Following the events of Green Lantern: Rebirth, Hal suggests that Bruce slip on the ring to finally let go of the death of his parents.

The Green Lantern has used this ring to fly, to create a green energy which can be used in a variety of ways, to hypnotize people, to become invisible, to translate languages, to pass through solid objects, to heal, to paralyze enemies, and even to time travel.
